you stare into their eyes, you smile at them creeping, creeping in, from the spaces between your words, creeping in from the spaces that your fingertips touch. you used to want it so bad that you would run and you would hide and you are shivering now, shivering with shame, shivering as you let fall the last bits of it. so, what are you now as you stare, and as you smile with eyes obsidian and blank, obsidian and burning cold in the face of a million collusion that leach their way into the gaps between your vertebrae. you do not flee as i had prayed for you too but you stand and you stare, you stand and let the world eat you from the inside out, you stand carnage and shallow breaths and your teeth clamor where your screams should have been. what are you now, do tell me, what are you as you stare?
